| October 22, 2002- Mason's Hall was
filled to capacity with some seventy-five kids, parents, mason, ghosts and
ghouls. The children's Halloween party was a rousing success. Wor. Jay
Smith organized the party with the assistance of his lovely wife Stephanie.
Actually, Stephanie organized the party with the help of her husband Jay.
Wor. Robert Streeter and Bro. Gary Lucas also served on the committee to set
things up.
The featured event was a walk through the "Hallway of Horror" which
included dinner with Chef Louis, unknown ghosts and goblins grabbing at your
legs and an assortment of serving bowls filled with eyeballs, brains and
other body parts to feel with your hands in the dark.
The children also took part in the donut eating contest where they had to
eat a donut suspended at approximately eye level with their hands held
behind their backs. |

"Simon Says" Cape Ann League champion, Bro.
Gary Lucas led the kids in an exciting game of "Simon Says." Despite
stalwart competition he was able to defend lifetime unbeaten
streak.
There were other games and face painting that entertained the children and
parents. A varied selection of delicious Halloween treats including candies,
brownies, cookies and the all time favorite; dirt with worms. The
Halloween punch was kept cool by ice dyed green and frozen in the shape of
human hands.
We are certain there must have been a large number of ghosts present as we
had seventy-five guests but went through more than 250 cups. |
| All in all, it was a very exciting night for
the children and a lot of fun for the parents and brethren who helped out.
The children are to be commended for their excellent behavior despite being
pumped full of sugar. Much hard work was put into this evening and I
am sure we will need more help next year because I can guarantee you that
the kids will be back in force. Thanks to all who helped out. |
